is 480p the best that the Wii can do?

Ya it is... not doing much for picture quality but it is a vast improvement to the cables the Wii comes with. At least its fun to play.

LoL, like #2 could tell the difference between 480p and 1080p.

There's a lot more that differentiates "HD" content than just higher resolution. NTSC Composite video has lots of problems, including chroma delay, dot crawl, combing/tearing, and general low image and color detail.

In many (if not most) situations the increased resolution of HD is actually less noticeable than the other improvements in picture quality offered by Component or HDMI cabling and progressive-scan video.

In other words, I think you'll notice more of an improvement going from Composite to 480p Component than you would from 480p Component to 720p Component.

#5 it really depends on what kind of display you have it hooked up to. 720p should obviously look better than 480p on a true HD display.... On a standard def CRT TV however, you might not notice as much of a difference.

This cable is totally worth it by the way, I got it off Meritline for the same price and the jagged edges are gone when surfing the net with with my Wii, and the color is better too.
