Wow, a whopping 17 cents per month savings! Accelerate hard from a stop sign and you've spent more than that.
Besides, places like 1and1.com have been charging only $6/yr for as long as I can remember as their standard fee, and YES you own the domain rights.

i prefer hostmonster over godaddy for registration (free private registration) and hosting (way better cpanel).
