Buy.com has the refurbished 3rd generation Apple 4GB iPod Video Nano Silver priced at $100 + $0 shipping = $100 shipped. The higher capacity 8GB version is $169 at Apple Store. Play up to 5 hours of video or up to 24 hours of audio on a single charge.

I bought (2) of these back in March and they are NOT refurbished, the ones I received were dented and scratched up. After trying to return them (no return priviledges at Buy.com) I contacted Apple. The ones I received had been sold to Sam's club about 6 months prior. I can only assume that this was a Christmas display buy back???

Not happy with the transaction at all... Buyer beware.

Thanks NikonJefff, That's what I was afraid of. I think I will go the route of a refurb for 129+tax from the Apple store and get a 'free' 15$ iTunes card to go with the gift.

    Nice:
    http://www.news.com/8301-13860_3-9930819-56.html

"Last week, I got a sales pitch e-mail from Buy.com touting a recertified 4GB iPod Nano for $99. I lost my iPod Touch last December and one of my older iPods had just given up the ghost, so I decided to go for it.

The iPod came in just a couple of days--but as soon as I unwrapped it and connected it to my Mac at home I got an ominous alert from my usually quiet antivirus software. The iPod, it informed me, contained some virus known as AdobeR.exe. "
