Amazon has the 4-count Duracell Rechargeables StayCharged 2000 mAh AAA NiMH Batteries for $9.97 - 5% off with Subscribe & Save (can cancel at any time) - $1.50 off coupon (click coupon clip on page, requires account) = $7.97 with free shipping.
It is not 2400 mAh. According to the photos on Amazon these are 2000 mAh. If they are made in Japan, they are repackaged Eneloops. From the reviews, it seems like they're now made in China, and are rebranded Rayovacs.
$9.97 with subscribe and save is for AAA not AA. $1.50 coupon still applies for AA.
#2, the Duracells I bought in 2005 / 2006 died after about 10 recharges. They were not the LSD ones though. But I'd just get Eneloops. The price difference is miniscule, and no guesswork involved about what you're going to receive. I've been a happy Eneloop user since 2008.
I don't recommend the Costco pack, though. The charger is mediocre, and the C & D adapters don't work well. You also get both AA and AAA - good if you need both, a waste otherwise.

The AAA are 800 mAH.
All the Duracells I've bought were a total POS, dies after a few recharges.
Haven't had any issues with my Duracell Low Discharge NiMH. However, I think the Costco Pack of Eneloops are a much better deal.
