I never got why it's wireless considering it requires a 12 volt power plug in order to work.

I understand that, but one would assume that a "wireless" cam would run on batteries/rechargeables, not require it to be plugged into an outlet.

it's wireless so you don't need to run a network cable all the way from your computer to the camera. you just need to find an outlet to plug them in to.

it's actually misleading in that it's wireless. djrussell this is not an ip camera so it can not travel over ethernet or your standard wifi router.

it outputs to av only so you're forced to use their receiver if you want to make your "av" wires "wireless." If you want this to run to your computer you need a capture card for av input that can accept multiple channels.

Also, it uses channels 1-4 to transmit the feed, which is bad because the frequency between the channels is too close as 2.4ghz really only offers one true full channel (ch. 6).

If you want a network camera make sure its an ip camera. linksys offers a decent wireless ip camera that ben had on here a bit back.

The same thing you would do all day by yourself, if you were that flexible... or perhaps that's just #8.

how are they wireless? from the photo it looks like each has 3 composite rca connectors (red and white for audio, yellow for video)

#8, these can be wired directly to a TV, that's why they have the composite output.

Would make a great in-house baby monitor, but if you want a remote Webcam you'll have to digitize the video feed and add webcam software.

I wonder how the picture is.
