Sandisk deserves an award for the worst form factor for a pocket media player, ever.

@#1

yeah, too bad this isn't a pocket media player. It was design for little kids, that's why you can shake and twist it every which way.

Good observation detective. How exactly did you figure it out?

This doubles as rotorocker's butt plug. *smirk*

I bet my four year old son would think this was pretty cool.

It's too big for a pocket and too unwieldy for a armband or whatnot. The advertising copy shows a kid holding it while jumping to music, yet the player is designed to change tracks when shaken. Smart. Also, unlike the iPods, etc, the Shaker doesn't feature a volume limiter. Better invest in a set of low-volume headphones or ReplayGain all your tracks before giving this player to your kid. Of course, it's so inconvenient to carry around that your kid will probably lose it after a week or two anyway.

The only possible use I can see for it is as a device for listening to podcasts or audiobooks via the built-in speaker, though I doubt the single AAA battery would power it for long. I can't imagine anyone, even a kid, listening to music for any length of time from a 1 inch mono speaker these days.
