Netflix DVD-rental service is now $17/month for unlimited rentals (3 outstanding at a time), with free 2-week trial for new customers. Their basic service is $9/month with 1 out at a time (2 max per month). Service will be quick if you live near one of their distribution centers.

You really gotta be a real rental whore for netflix to make sense. After a while I was paying the monthly fee and just didn't have anything I really wanted to watch.

#1, you should switch to the 1-at-a-time plan. It makes much more sense if you are an occasional renter.

If you are an occasional renter, going to the Redb0x makes much more sense. If you don't have a Redb0x near you, then just going to the damn video store and paying $4 per movie is better than wasting $10 or $20 each month on a service you may or may not use.
Netflix and Blockbuster online are only good for people that get the movies and send them back the next day. Otherwise, you are just throwing away your money.
EDIT: Ben, seriously? What's wrong with the Redb0x? No kickbacks, eh?

#3.. best deal based on AsktheJew.com says.. Get the 1out at a time from NetFlix for $5. Then wait for the weekly free rentals from RedB-x and use those. Cost $5 a month..
