After what Staples pulled on us this past Friday, I would never recommend ordering their products through this web site, because they do not ship special priced items only. We ordered the Tom Tom One 3rd Edition GPS on a Ben's Bargain special. Staples even provided us an order #. Yesterday, we received an e-mail from them that the order was cancelled and that the item was out of stock. They did not even attempt to backorder the item. I guess the price was too good to be true. Our advice, in a nutshell, is not to order from these unethical crooks.

A lot of B&M stores and their websites pulled that for Black Friday items. A lot of stuff was not available on BF, even if you were the first through the door. You are not alone #1.

Sorry to hear that #1...I ordered the same from the website on BF and havent gotten an email saying it was cancelled...yet

the cluster-F at RadioShack was even worse, as I stopped there after Staples was out of the TomTom

I am not going to let them get away with it. Their web site should have indicated that the item was out of stock. Since it did not, and an order # was issued, under which I even claimed their rebate on, they will have to honor the order. I don't care how long they take to backorder the item, I want it at the price I ordered it for off their web site. This type of unethical business practice will not be tolerated. I will report them to the BBB & Dept. Of Consumer Affairs in the State of Y As a former electronics salesman, allow me to enlighten you to the scam places like Staples pull. Had I ordered six other items, my Tom Tom would have shipped. Since I ordered only the special, the order was cancelled. It is the oldest, sleaziest scam in the electronics world.

I noticed they do that when you use a coupon too. But after they cancel your order, you can go right back to the website and order without coupon.

I had totally enjoyable BF experience at Staples. I printed the ads for the Altec Lansing speakers and the 1TB Maxtor disk and went to the local Staples store. In less than 5 minutes I had the speakers and their last 1TB disk in my cart. I went to another Staples store and bought a second 1TB disk.
