hello all, new to this sight thanks to my son wanting a wii.
I would like to tell yall that i spoke to a target employee today and she said to look in the sundays target sales paper. If they have the wii in it,target will have at least 50 wiis at each store. she also said in two weeks they will have the wii in the sunday sales paper. I hope she is right.

Wii's will supposedly be in the 12/2/07 Best Buy ad Minimum 18 per store. Not a true "baconeal" I know, but I'm sure some people are still looking for these.
copied from a SD post...later on in the post a BB employee says that sounds right...
but just a heads up for now...not a planned attack
again YMMV!!!

wiicrazy #60 post, I Feel Your Pain and I Only want to tell you that you May be on Track to Get your Wii by going to Costocs on Tuesday morning when they open at 10am. I was told by a Very Nice Young guy in cameras they come in almost always on tuesdays and thursdays and if I was there at opening time he was sure I would Get One. I am in Bad shape physically fighting Lymphoma Having gone thru Chemo and Radiation so I can't stand Out all night waiting at a best buy with 100's of People Many who are there to resell them for Profit ( Karma will Get them ). Anyway Last Tuesday I sat in My Car waiting Until 10am and they opened the Doors a Little early but I Moved quickly not needing a Cart. They were on a Pallet with a Costco employee allowing each person to Buy One. there was no Mass Hysteria But I am sure they went pretty quickly and now that it is after Black Friday it Might be Harder to get One. I would certainly be at the Doorway and Move quickly past the TV sets and they are always at the Entrance or near to it with a sign. I paid $344. for a fairly Priced Bundle, a Extra remote Controller, Numb Chuck controller and Brain professor (?? ) Game. It is for my Only Little relative, My Brothers 5 Year old son. Now I wish I had One to pass the time But will wait Until after Christmas when the Crowds die down and I can Buy the Basic $249. console. If You add up what is Included in Costcos Bundle deal It is Not a Rip Off Like Many of the Others are forcing You to Purchase 5 Horrible Games You don't want so You are Paying $500-$600. I feel You have a Beter Chance at Costcos since it is a Membership club Keeping the 'Scalpers' Away who head to the Best Buys. My Brother Told and Others have told me target is a Good Place to try if You are Looking at a Store. They always seem to have better stocking Year round owned by a French Company whose Policy is to Keep all Stock Out on the Floor. Your Other Choice is to ke... [Truncated]

I have three kids (5,8,10) who have wanted a Wii for awhile now, but I have not been able to afford the 250.00 until now. Is there anyone out there who sells just the console for the 249.00 price and then I can pick out my own games that I know they will like. There is no way I can pay the 5-600.00 or more for one. Any help would be be most appreciated.

I am so glad I read this forum last night at work. I went to Target at 8:00 this morning, no crowds, went straight to electronics and they had 3 Wii's. Try Target!!!

Agreed, Target is the way to go. Called when they opened and they had em! The wife is gonna lose her mind!
Also, if you don't see them on the shelves, ask! They were keeping them in the back room.

I was also unable to find any of the wii's on line or in the stores with just the basic game console for $250. I live in a very lg. town & was having no luck @ all. I called my sister who lives in a rural are & she found me one @ a smaller chain store named ALCO.

*does the wii dance*
I spoke with Costco (thank you, Beachbum, and best of luck with your cancer treatments. Be well!), and there's one close to me that is getting 48 in the next couple of days. The advice I received was to call between 6-7am, ask about their number of wiis and opening hour (sometimes it's earlier than 10am, especially with the holidays), and show up as soon as they open.

Thats the problem 250.00 plus one or two games versus 5-600.00! It's too bad alot of people went out and purchased them at the 250.00 and went online to sale them for that hefty price. Now the families who want to give their kids a nice Christmas can't because they were all bought up in bulk. Oh well what goes around comes around. I hope they and their families have a Blessed and nice Christmas as well as the rest of you and yours. No sarcasm intended.

Dream, I'm a Costco member, so that's not a problem. However, I think you might be able to buy without being a member (5% surcharge), and in the whole scheme of things, an extra $50.00 for a usable Costco membership vs. $150.00 to line someone's pocket on eBay might make the deal worth it for some.

It's called a free, capitalist market. If someone wants to put in the time and effort to procure systems and then resell them at a profit, let them. They did what most people are unable or unwilling to do, and that's spend their time by standing in line.
The law of supply and demand is about the most simplistic of any economic principle. As long as there is more demand than supply, then prices will rise.
Instead of whining about it just don't buy them on the secondary market. Once the demand goes away, prices will go down. Don't be afraid to tell your kids no. Explain to them the principles of commerce and that you'll get them one once more become available. Believe me...their lives are not going to be ruined if they don't have a Wii.

I don't know about all Costcos getting them. I spoke with two today. One said it would be a miracle if they got any before Christmas. The other had a shipment coming in within the next two days. I'm not sure what makes the difference, but I suspect the woman I spoke with wasn't familiar with the current shipment schedule.

I agree with FreeMarket 110%
not that i dont feel bad for people that have cancer and feel the need to tell random people online, but....
The Wii's are out there but you need to put the effort into getting one right now...
People are progressively getting more and more lazy... this is a fact, so this what fuels the ebay craze..
and dont lie to your kids...empty promises = empty hearts

Ran to Target tonight (for other stuff) but it certainly doesn't hurt to ask if they have any Wii's in stock. The kid told me no, but that they had about 50 of them Saturday morning. Makes me wonder if they get their shipments on Friday.
The lady at Costco told me to check Wed and Thurs. She said last time the arrival date on the shipment was off by 2 days. I'll call tomorrow anyway just to make sure.
But that does tell me that they do know when they are getting them in.
For the sake of conversation, I buy and sell on Ebay. The things I buy on Ebay are because they are a good deal. Unlike these Wii's. I would also say that if I had 10 Wii's in my hands right now, they would be listed there for sale. I'd start it at the price I paid plus shipping, and if some idiot wants to pay me $400 for a $250 purchase, who am I to complain.

LOL I'm up to my neck in iphones on eBay.
I don't look at it as ripping people off (lining pockets, yes), just shuffling stock from little towns with low demand to people in big cities that can't get their hands on the product.
I was really impressed with Costco's forthrightness about their shipment. I have up to a four day notice of their arrival and have been able to prepare accordingly. Obviously I don't have one yet, but because they told me to expect some this week, I'm a little more prepared. Walmarts don't appear to have any knowledge prior to the Wiis showing up in the store. Not helpful.
