XP supports this type of transfer, too. Good for people who don't know how to setup networking, but need to move to a new PC.

One Ethernet crossover cable can solve the date transfer problem right away at higher transfer rate and also lower cost. Why buy this ? Unless your M/B doesn't come with RJ45 network port.

Since this requires installing software on both computers for file transfer, and in 90% of the cases, both computers are already in a network, why not just transfer using the network?

... And Buy.com does not step up in case of rebate problems despite FTC has supposedly ruled that retailers are ultimately responsible for the rebates.
