This deal could work out to be just as good #1, since most people go through black faster than color and would either have to buy another whole 4 pack to get the next black, or pay higher single-refill prices to get another black alone.
Last time I looked at our primary use color laser's logs, we actually used about 6-8X as much black as any other color tho we don't much use it for photos, brochures, etc.
#3: Not true. You can buy extra black cartridges at meritline for $13.
2 black and 3 colored at meritline = $56
4 black and 6 colored at meritline = $100

Meritline charges $3.17 S/H on individual black. Then they knock a couple bucks off if you buy the black along with the 4 pack, making it $57... to me, 3 bucks one way or the other is a wash, especially when some stuff I've ordered from Meritline takes a heck of a long time to arrive.
I do agree Meritline starts making more sense if you buy a lot at once, but I never do that because then if the printer breaks you are faced with the dilemma of buying same thing, repairing same, trying to sell toner as a 3rd party, or throwing it away. In other words Meritline is a good place to get just a black, but for the 5 pack the difference isn't significant, at least not as significant as not tying up a lot of money in surplus toner and yet having it delivered quickly when you start to run low. Just in time stock... a beautiful thing.
BTW, are these toners work good in the Samsung printer ?
