Why is this criterion collection more expensive than the regular movie?
Criterion actually invests a lot of money in the restoration of classic films so that is part of the reason. They also include a lot of extras such as commentaries, interviews and documentaries that go beyond the usual bonus features that studios add. They're definitely aimed at film fans!
