Ben: Some of us don't give a baconnaise about the price being double this, double that. If these are needed, and that's the price, I buy them. On that note: Never tried this brand. Are they OK or junk?
Horrible
!
depends on your burner.
Basura my xbox360 games work about 30% of the time when I tried burning them on these! Go with the Verbatim
Verbatim is the way to go. Especially w/xbox games
#1, rest assured that for the last few months this product degraded in quality and is certifiable junk. I'm stingy at times and tried to "save" money buying Memorex and boy, do I regret this. Ate the loss and bought Verbatim, now that's something that mostly qorks.
Verbatim or bust.
how is this media when it comes to burning movies on it?
terrible. i used the whole spindle with not one successful burn. what a waste.
I must be doing something wrong. Ive had about a 98% success rate using Memorex DVDs for that past 3 or 4 years. Cant speak to Xbox games but other than that Ive had zero complaints. Ive only used the DL disks for about 6 months, but again overall success rate is high.
#10, I would suggest going back and testing your disks. Many times you will have a "successful" burn, only to learn later that it was unsuccessful.
I got a 5 pack of these (wanted to see for sure that i could play burned xbox games) and i had a 75% success rate with them (burned 4 and 1 failed) I always told it to verify the disc after burning and the one that failed actually successfully burned, but fail the verify. I just ordered a 20pk Verbatims from newegg for $27 shipped, though you are getting more for a better price I will gladly pay a little more then having 1 coaster for every 4 discs i burn
#12 - You need to take a remedial math course.
Never got any problem with Memorex DVDs so far. But this time, I have no idea with Memorex DVD DL, I'm on the fence though. Almost half price comparing to Verbatim's right?
#6 just made a new discovery in the field of quantum physics: qorks. As Einstein* once said 2 qorks + 3 gluons = 1 klingon.
* Billy-Bob Einstein
Almost bit, but will go verbatim
I have always been sold on the TDK brand myself. I always seem to have issues with other brands.
aren't tdk and memorex same media code?
burn at slow speed like 2x you'll have success but they wear out after some reads.
I've been through 3 spindles of these in the past 4 months. I'm burning mostly blu ray rips on them .. after I've burned each one, i test them both in my pc and on my Sony Blu Ray player. Each one - except for 2 - have burned 100%. One of the ones that failed was due to a bad movie, not the disc. The other one failed because I was doing this with my external LG burner sitting on the arm of the couch and knocked the burner to the floor. Bad news for the disc. Good news for the burner. Its now safely resting on my desk and continues to work flawlessly. BTW, I burned these with the speed set to 'auto'. I do know of someone else with another manufacturer burner that has the completely opposite results and has gone to another brand of disc. So as someone else said, I think it is dependent on the drive.
