Buy.com has this Memorex DVD+R 8X Double Layer Media 8.5GB (2 x 25 Pack) Spindle for $34 with free shipping. Even if you factor in the double capacity, the price/storage is still more than double that of single layer media. [Compare]

The price is great, but the media sucks balls.

Bought this recently. Burned 8 discs over 3 different burners, none worked. What a load of crap.

We warned you, Zogg. People think its all about being a 'fanboy', but sometimes its about knowing whats a shitty product.

    Try the Verbatims.

knock it down to 4x I bet it will burn then...

I use DL media specifically for the larger .iso images (games/movies) I get off the net that I want to save for a while... everything else never leaves hard drives... I d/l on one computer and transfer the movies to the HTPC, mount the game iso files in poweriso and install the game... I don't think I've found a game this year that was worth burning a DL for.. what a sad state.

Wouldn't burn correctly at any speed.

Verbatim is definitely the better choice.

FYI the slower 2.4x DL discs will take 40mins to burn. How long will these take?

Memorex=baconnaise!!!! Go with Verbatim or try the Ridata 8x. I got the Ridata for $17 + tax at Fry's and so far they have all burned and played back fine in multiple dvd players around the house. I only use these for movies because external HDs are so cheap I have several for file transfers and backups.

Guys, just burn them at a lower speed, memorex is crappy but it still works. You're not going to get a medal for burning 360 games in less than 5mins

my plextor 850sa burns them great. I've only tried at 4x, but I've burned over 30 now from two diff. boxes and they have all burned perfect.I had lots of trouble w/ other burners too, but I guess you need to spend a little more to get a good burner?
