Waste more money on an overrated game with outdated graphics? (compared to PC games)
No thanks. Crysis, CoD4, HL2, Fear, Bioshock. All superior to any of the Halo Franchise. Looking for multiplayer? Look no further than UT.
The one thing that Halo has that I wish some of the PC fps games had is Co-op mode for the campaign.

Halo is about Wacky Space Adventure (tm), not war simulation. You wanna jump 10' in the air and use energy weapons? Halo. You want gritty, go elsewhere. Not defending or bashing, just putting it in perspective. Is the game itself worth $60, not unless you play alot of multi-player (and lets face it, XBOX live is full of a$$h0l3s). Now, if for the same $60 you throw in a stupid plastic helmet that you can torture the cat with? Heck Yeah! Sign me up!

I think the draw here is that the "Legendary Edition" is normally around $120 retail. It comes with all that bonus junk. It's so legendary I don't know how you could possibly resist its legendary-ness.

#1 is an idiot. It's much more fun to play games on a 60" 1080p LCD tv with 3 of your friends while you relax on the couch. I dont want to sit alone in my room and play on a 19" PC monitor. Wireless controllers, online friends, in-game chat, in-game video chat, no-hassle game play, no installation conflcts, the list of advantages to platform gaming is huge. Since you think the graphics are outdated I assume you must be playing on an old tube tv. The PS3 and Xbox both have HDMI out now. Playing games in Hi-Def on a huge screen is the only way to fly.

#1, Halo 3 looks pretty darn good in 1080p.. but you don't buy games for their graphics, you go for the gameplay. Halo 3 is going to be around xbox live forever. I agree that CoD 4, Crysis, Bioshock, etc have better graphics, but graphics should not be the only determining factor.
On a personal note, Bioshock is the best fps I've ever played and CoD 4 is #2... amazing storylines!... Though, nothing beats a late night of Team Slayer.

#11 Are you not posting replies on bensbargains.net? So your life is more meaningful in what way? Your suggestions are worth nothing here. $100.00 says you still sleep with M0mmy....

For a game that is going for $120 in the stores this is indeed a good bargain if you are a Halo 3 fan and if you don't already own a copy of it already.

I used to love the Halo franchise, but unfortunately it hasn't kept up with the times and the new one just seems like an expansion pack for halo 2... which already seemed like an expansion pack for Halo 1. Not nearly enough change or innovation like certain other games. Now I'm looking forward to the new Unreal game.

Yes, except that when you have four people on the same screen, the viewing area in game is so small (not talking about screen size, I'm referring to area of the game that is visible) it would be like playing with those horse visor things (no idea what they are called) on that completely block your peripheral vision. Not to mention there is the disadvantage of seeing each others screens which completely eliminates the element of surprise in a fps.
BTW, you can get wireless mice/keyboards for pc. Online friends on pc? Yes. In game chat? Yes. No hassle game play? Yes. In fact, I don't even have to pay for an account to play online like Xbox users do. Installation conflicts? I don't seem to have these kind of problems. Maybe you should take better care of your pc and invest in some better hardware. A pc can be hooked up to an HDTV just as easily as an xbox can. Too bad half the 360's out there don't even have HDMI whereas any video card has DVI output. Your list of advantages to console fps is dwindling whereas the pc list of advantages remains strong.
To name a few:
Superior hardware
Superior Graphics
More frequent patches/updates for game improvements
Keyboard/Mouse
Free online play for fps games
Scaling to a wide variety of platforms (high and low end machines)
Yes, Xbox 360 has outdated graphics. With that said, Halo 3 doesn't even use the full potential of the hardware in the 360. I've only ever seen and played Halo 3 on an HDTV or projector and I can still confirm that it looks like a 3 year old PC game. HDMI doesn't make the graphics engine any better.

For any that think Halo 3 looks impressive on a big screen. Try hooking a pc with a good dx10 video card (8800 series) up to that same screen and loading crysis on the TV's native resolution. If you were impressed by Halo 3 then your jaw will drop at crysis.
#10: Absolutely right. Keyboard and mouse is one of the main reasons why console fps games can't compare to PC ones. That and the outdated hardware on a console that can't be upgraded until the next gen console.
