Why don't get the Sony one, only 10 dollars more, remotes PS3 all funtions

A lot of people with learning remotes like Pronto, or Harmany ones, are buying this specifically for the IR sensor. Then they can program their remote to work with the PS3 (just throw away the BluWave remote or put it in storage).

I have a Harmony 880 and find it very annoying that I can use that remote to control everything in the room including the lights and fan, but I have to use the stupid Sony Bluetooth remote when I want to watch a Blu Ray.

I personally am still torn between picking this up, or a PS3IRX1 that matches the design of the PS3 much better.

Why not just use the PS3 controller? Sure, not as intuitive, but worked fine for me. Then again, I'm not a huge movie buff, so I'm not doing anything more complicated than hitting play and maybe turning subtitles on or skipping ahead to a scene.

On/Off functionality is important. We like the Sony remote, plus, we need all four USB ports for Rock Band
