This camera sounds good on paper. Does anyone have any hands-on experience with it.

The wife and I have the H5, and this camera is about half the size of that, but not quite a pocket camera. It takes about the same quality pictures as the H5 (which are very nice and has good reviews from dpreview). One problem we had, though, was it blurred out some of the pictures taken while opening presents... but this is because we had the camera on the wrong setting. The face detection feature is a nice addition that our H5 doesn't have.
Overall, I'd say it is a very good sub-$300 camera. Don't take my word for it, though, and check dpreview or another site for a more "professional" review.

It's a good camera. However, I think the Canon s3 beats it for the price. I've tried out both before, and I liked the Canon one better. Then again, I'm also a Canon fan, so my opinion is definitely biased. This one has face detection, which I don't think the Canon model possesses.
