Have bought two of these in the past month for clients and both have been great. So you received a bum unit - they're sending you another one. R-E-L-A-X.

With the recent HP NB1399 coupon the same config (lower 8600GS gfx) with a 17" screen was $1070. The ass***** as HP killed the coupon 10 days early.
The following config comes up to $1217 (before tax).

Be careful if you need docking stations, I don't believe these have "true" dock connectors on the bottom. That means you'll be stuck with sub-par USB and/or card-connecting docks and have to plug/unplug power and the dock connector/etc.

#3, so you have had good luck with the Vostro line? I have a ton of Inspiron and Latitudes in the office, but bought one of these a week ago(yet to receive it), so no complaints??
