Dammit, just bought one of these for $200 a few weeks ago. If you're a runner, you'll love this watch! They just released the 405 but it's still pricey and has the same functions as the 305.

This thing works great. I can just recommend it to any runner out there. I recently got the foot pod too, now I can even use it while being on the treadmill watching the Red Wings win.

Works great for biking and XC skiing too. (I have the older version, which is a bit larger). I got a handlebar mount for biking, and they also have a cadence sensor for the bike.

If you're a Mac user, skip the Garmin software, and go with "Trailrunner X".

I agree that this watch is awesome. I use it for running and biking. I have yet to take it snowboarding with me but I plan to do so one of these days.

Battery life is pretty good too. I biked from Seattle to Portland with this (13 hours) and it did not die...although it threatened to. The software that comes with it is terrible though.

Meh.. I'm waiting for the 405. The 305 feels like you're wearing a damned gawdy tank on your wrist. The 405 actually feels like a watch. This thing sucks. Pay the extra $$ for the 405.

The 405 looks niice. It has a touch-sensitive bezel. Read about it at http://www.engadget.com/2008/01/03/garmins-new-forerunner-405-puts-the-watch-back-in-gps-watch/

    Check out the video.

305 GPS watch is great. I have the original 101 and upgraded to 305 this year. I love it so much that I almost *want* to wear and use it 24/7. Too bad I hurt my calf from a workout before christmas and wasn't able to run for two weeks Sad Like others said, if you are a runner/walker/biker, you sure want to checkout and buy one.

I have owned this watch and HRM for over a year and have trained and run two marathons with it. The watch is great, but the HRM is poorly designed. It is shaped like a box on the back and the corners of the box rub against the chest. On long runs (over 1 hour) expect major chaffing to your chest. Save your money and go with the 205.

This is a great price for the 305. I aggree the software sucks. I'm using the free Sportracks for software, works very well.
