Man I would love to have one of these but I could probably run all my 35mm negs through in one weekend. After everything's scanned, you don't need it anymore. Somebody should set up a shop to rent these things for like $30/day.

At 226 seconds per negative, it will take longer than a weekend. If you go to a lower res, it still takes 87 seconds per.
The reason this thing is cheap is because of scan speed and lower quality image processing. If you want it done in a weekend, drop off your negatives at a photo shop and ask for the CD option. Probably not the best quality, but a hell of a lot better than sitting there for hours.

One of the camera stores where I live rents Nikon Coolscan 5000ED scanners. That's a $1500 scanner and it produces incredible scans. No way will this be of the same quality. Just check with your local camera stores and see if you can rent a scanner.

Price shows $280 + $12 shipping for me now.
Anyone know what the 7300 has that the 7200 doesn't? I was thinking of getting the 7200i. I think it has IR dust & scratch detection and better software.
