I got this for like $.50 (but $5 shipping) a couple of weeks ago from a Amazon partner. Anything remotely related to the RAZR's seems to be dirt cheap of late. I got this, a battery, and a car charger for about $18 total (including shipping - indeed, almost all of it was shipping).

8 bucks for a battery is steal.

#2: Agreed. I paid like .51 for the battery - and the $5 shipping again. All through Amazon, though last I saw the prices were heading back up (as they should be). My particular stuff went through Accessory1, though, at the time, there were perhaps 5-10 vendors with similar net prices (some more expensive for the item, but less shipping).

How much did you pay for the silly king tut hat?

I wasn't sure this would be worth it, but you can really do a lot with your phone using this - like converting songs to ring tones - and it updates as new phones/versions come out. Nice software.

anybody used the modem feature w/ this item?

do you have to pay any extra service w/ your provider?

or this makes your cell work like a dial up modem like the good old days?

#7. I haven't used it as a modem on this phone, but, yes, you can do it. If you have such a need though, you're better off going with broadband wireless. Cell modem is very slow (think of the old 1200 baud days) and you pay data rates for it if I recall right.

#4 - You're not exactly in a position to be discussing silly looks....

Not sure about your carrier, but normally data service is different from voice service. The modem feature is considered data, so you would likely pay extra for it.

That's why I LOVE MetroPCS. Flat rate for unlimited everything, and no contract.

Maybe I'm just a tech retard, but I bought this to retrieve photos and stuff from my Verizon Razr. It wouldn't recognize it at all. I used the control panel to find the drive, or whatever, and no luck. So I gave up.

#7 Yes you can use it as a modem with or without this software.
If you have a dial up number and you have say Alltel you can even use that dial up number as one of your circle numbers = free connection but dial up slow.
If your have EVDO in your area then you can use it as a broadband modem and get nice speeds( for wireless), but you will have to have internet service with your cell account. I pay 25$/mo unlimited service with Alltel and tether my razor to my laptop and have the EVDO network in my area. I get EVDO coverage about 150 mile radius from my home and get anywhere from 200kb to 600kb down with it on the road or at the lake.
It Rocks!

#11 Verizon phones are locked to use this software, but they can be unlocked to use it. Try Howard Forums or Hack the Razor on the web for info. GL

Howard Forums are great, but for the Moto RAZR on Verizon, I think this is one of the best sources of info:
http://mark.cdmaforums.com/index.php
http://mark.cdmaforums.com/V9M.htm for the latest RAZR2
