    1080i or 1080p? And how do these work uploading to a computer? Does it take up tons of space? Does premiere work to edit the video?

    these HD camcorders are getting cheap. $600 is a great deal. it was around $800 when i got my sony HC7 for $900ish.

    HD camcorder quality is awesome. plug it straight to your HDTV and presto family video in HD.

    unfortunately, putting it on disc still down scale to DVD as i don't have the rig for HD media and HD burner, which would cost an arm and a leg. lol

    a friend of mine has one of these...cant speak from much experience with others but its pretty good deal comparatively i think
