Note, this does not handle QAM (digital cable, etc.) signals. It handles over the air analog, over the air digital, and analog cable. Hauppauge does have a new QAM capable version. same model number, but with a Q after the number (950Q). Going for about $100 +/- $20 depending where you look.

Aren't cable cards the only thing that handles digital cable? None of these tuners do that I am aware of.

#1, where would you recommend buying the 950Q? All my usual haunts don't seem to carry it yet.

#2, for encrypted channels, that would be true.

Good hardware, *BUT* no stereo audio channels for analog cable TV. Ok if you're buying it only for digital ATSC. No closed captioning either, might be software crippled.
