Restaurant.com has 60% off their coupons with coupon code CHOW [Exp 8/17]. This has reduced the price of their $25 Dining Certificates to just $4 for most restaurants and areas. Fine print applies for many of the certificates, such as minimum 4 entrees, etc.

Right now, most good restaurants are sold out and if you wait a little longer, you can ususally get 70%-80% off towards the end of the month.

Actually, this was a highly useful offer, being a substantial discount coupled with a very unusual mid-month recharge, making available new coupons for those usually sold out minutes after appearing on the first of each month. The announcement here should have emphasized this. It is true that 80% discounts are common, but the most desirable coupons are almost never available at those times - though as the song goes, it is all a matter of chacun à son goût: plenty of good coupons usually available at the frequent 80% discount sales.

Ah, number three - the song was the Limelighters' 'Have Some Madeira, M'Dear' - not exactly what I'd consider an attempt at social-climbing. To wit:
"Have some madeira, m'dear. You really have nothing to fear.
I'm not trying to tempt you, that wouldn't be right,
You shouldn't drink spirits at this time of night.
Have some madeira, m'dear. It's really much nicer than beer.
I don't care for sherry, one cannot drink stout,
And port is a wine I can well do without...
It's simply a case of chacun a son gout
    Have some madeira, m'dear."
