Careful! I had 2 sites hosted with them - and, unfortunately, I prepaid for an entire year. It turns out, the data center I was in only had a single NAS array for all their sites. I found this out after 15+ phone conversations about the 500ms+ delay in accessing my site from 6AM-10PM PST.

They would always promise that new hardware was on the way and it would be installed on (today + 2 days). I would wait a week to give them time to install it and then the next tech I talked to would tell me the upgrades were delayed, etc etc.

Google for web host reviews - there are AWESOME hosts out there for not that much more than this!

unfortunately it is almost nearly impossible to find genuine reviews of any web hosting, companies hire reviewers to review good about their web hosting and as well as put negative reviews on other web hosting. Best bet is to try it, if you like it, keep it, if not, move!

does anyone have any suggestions? what you you guys use?

avoid them, they are worse than scum. My site was down 90%, cannot receive email. Won't refund your money. They suck.

GLOBAT SUCKS. I think they sued webhostingtalk or have some agreement where the word Globat is censored out of every post.

They are scum. I can't prove it. But i think they came in as HOSTBRIX.COM on this forum. Got a bunch of people. Then moved them to GLOBAT's Datacenters.

So in case you haven't figured it out. Globat fucking sucks.

for single site/reseller accounts - hostgator.com

for vps/dedicated account - liquidweb.com

two of the best in the business.

hostgator just started getting bad reviews. sounds like their IT dept quit.
BTW, I use HostPC.com. They are cheap and OK. My only real problem with HostPC is no SSH/telnet.

Globat does NOT SUCK! They are one of the best hosts out there. All hosting companies have positives and negatives, no one is perfect. However, in my case, Globat has done great job, hosting, bandwidth, support, not to mention the great price, etc.

It is the absolutely a great deal here which is rare to find with shared web hosting services. I always say, does the company offer money-back? If yes, you have nothing to loose. If you pass your money-back period and have an unresolved issue (which you won't) contact support or customer service, they'll take care of you.

thomasSC, if you search the web for shared web hosting, you will find that all shared/dedicated web hosting companies alike, have same sort of negative feedback/issues, it is how the company handles your issue what makes a difference in my book. I say give Globat a try and see for yourself.

Thanks for reading, peace!

- This is a WARNING - Ignore "Tryahost" I had Globat, had prepaid a year. Then a year and a half later ( I never used the site! ) I get a fucking phone call from collectors, saying I owe globat 150$ plus another 100$ for not letting Globat know I was going to cancel!! I told them to FUCK OFF - I never gave them my credit info, and they arent a credit company. They are however predatory and have horrible policies!

These people were such idiots that I filed a claim with the Californis state attorneys office against them for fraud...I would avoid them and go elsewhere...

When i called tech support. They have a "NAME" that must pop up and tell the tech how to answer. A few times they've slipped up and asked me what my globat account name is.

Also if you look at the IP addresses. They are all owned by globat.com.

Its a fucking scam. Take a look at http://www.techhosting.com/
Same deal same fuckover.

I'll agree, Globat SUCKS. I had my site hacked into from somone in Jordan, at first they tried to deny it, but after realizing that my profile to which I or any user doesn't have access to were changed as well, they had to admit it. Since it was only two days after uploading my site to them, they refunded me my money.
