I actually got one of these necklaces for my wife, and we sent it back. The pearls looked like cheap plastic knockoffs. I'm sure they were real, but there was little consistency in the color along the string, which ruined the appeal. It's more of a "Dark Purplish, with occasional pink shimmers and the intermittent really dark pearl" necklace.

If the pearls are consistent then you should suspect fakes. The only real pearl necklaces that are consistent are in a much higher price range.
