sdtv reception means that it is digital? what about HD quality?

Doesn't look like HD quality is there except for some upscaling for the HDMI output.

Since this records to standard DVDs the recording will be 480i "standard definition" since that's what standard DVDs support.
Still interesting, though, since it has an ATSC (digital) tuner.
