I can't find anything about a 1 year commitment on the diretv site. It's either 18 or 24 months..Only thing that has to do with 1 year is thats the amount of time you get the $35 package for. After a year it goes up $18

I had Dish and I would return to Dish if they would upgrade the HD channel line up.
