Only seen a few shows where the host was so full of themselves. He's a legend in his own mind.

Great for learning survival techniques. Not-so-great for learning how to pronounce glay-seer (glacier), vet-eh-min (vitamin), and al-um-een-ee-um (aluminum).

Eating raw Impala meat from a rotting carcas = st00pid
Getting the shits in the middle of climbing a shear 500ft cliff & having to drop trough half way up = Priceless!!

#2, just remember he's Bree-tish. That explains some of the pronounciation issues.

I used to like this show until I heard him do stunts like #8 said sleeping in a hotel off camera and that he had crews of dozen with him to film and sometimes help him build wooden bridge and stuff and that he choose to do stunts that only expert would do and definitely not what a stranded average joe would contemplate doing such as the episode he scale up a narrow crack of a cliff.
It's geared towards entertainment rather than pure survival guide.

utube man vs. wild fake.
He is a fucking fake.
He does not survive in the wild like Survivorman, but "gives useful information on how to, some times the show is staged to point out what could be done to survive."
The Piss Turban was nice...and the fact that he drank his own piss, but otherwise he is a charlatan.

Survivorman bitches about having to go back and get the camera too much.

Fake How? He jumps from planes...eats and drinks all kinda stuff...and it has a disclaimer at the beginning of the show stating he recieves help...and he is just showing hypothetical situations and how to survive...so he is not a fake imo...survivor man is doing the real deal...bacons two different shows...both entertaining....

They only added the disclaimer and re-edited the older shows to indicate that he had assistance and that many parts were staged after they were caught. For the first few seasons they seemed to think they were fooling everybody but there were already postings all over the Internet about certain scenes being faked.
Bear Grylls needs to move to Hollywood to continue his acting career and leave the survival shows to the people who actually do it.

I like seeing Bear Grylls eating all kinds of weird things like scorpions , maggots, or snakes. In the last show he drunk pig shit tea.
