    Be sure to walk through the configuration screens and manually select the free upgrades. They aren't automatically included by default.

    This is a good price for a laptop with nvidia graphics. Hard disk is a little on the small side, but it's easily replaced.

    You might get five hours of battery life if all you're running is the screen saver. MAYBE.

    #5, for reference, on my Vostro 1700 with the 85WHr battery, I can usually work (typically 2 or 3 instances of Visual Studio 2005/2008 open simultaneously) for about 6 hours before I need to recharge.

    I also have a Vostro 1500 with an 85WHr that gets similar results... I don't use it as much. 5 hours is probably pushing it for normal use, but not by much.

    vostro 1500 is a good laptop and most value for your $$...have had it for 6 months....so far so good....only 1 draw back...bacons bulky and heavy. If you don't plan on taking it with you everywhere too much....then this is a great option, otherwise, find a lighter one.

    I've had my 1500 for about 4 months as well and don't have a problem. I would tell you that with the 56Whr battery and normal usage - no cd/dvd, bluetooth turned off, you MIGHT get 3 hours - if you are using wireless and depending on the power settings, but other than that, decent deal.
