I recently just purchased this Gigabyte 8800GT, but I got the lower model with only 256MB GDDR3 and installed it on my Dell Inspiron 530. I had to upgrade my power supply to the Antec EA500, but after doing all that I am having problems restarting my computer. I have no problems with cold starts, but after installing new programs, i try to restart my computer and my monitor just goes blank. I then have to manually shut down and then restart my computer.
Anybody have any advice for me? I would really appreicate it. Thanks.

When does your screen go blank? Is it right when you click the button to restart? Or does windows shut down, and then the screen goes blank, and the computer just sits there with the fans running?

Thanks for the response #2. Well once I hit restart, it shuts down properly, but then when I try to reboot back up goes through the Vista screen and then goes blank. I just can not figure it out. I know it is not the power supply, but more the signal from the video card to the monitor. There is no signal to the monitor. Never ever had this problem. Thanks for the feedback CompWiz.

Reboot in to safe mode... does that get you a display?
Uninstall drivers for the vid card, re-download the correct drivers for your OS, re-install.
It's possible something just didn't get installed correctly.

A Friend had the same issue it appears to be a boot config issue with recent Vista updates... Safe-mode and try going back about 5 updates and that cleared his problem. Then re-ran MS update watching it go thru the update list of what is recommend he did only a couple of them and when he got a good run thru he'd do a couple others.

Wow! This kick ass card keeps getting less expensive. Its one of the fastest 8800GTs you can get. If a GT is what you want, this ones great.
