David Attenberg did a better narration.

I'm surprised they still cost this much. HD-DVD issues aside, Sunrise Earth is a great series... not something I'd want to own on DVD, however... more of a Sunday morning relaxation show

Expect to see these HD disks buried in Plant Earth very soon.

Sunrise earth is beautiful but the most boring screensaver of a video in history.

Discovery Atlas HD-DVD is actually selling for a good price on eBay.

I wish I took advantage of deal on the BBC Planet Earth on HD-DVD.

I like the part where Sigourney gets it on with the alien.. I didn't know they could do that!

Na, that wasn't an alien, it was a wildebeast. Hot lovin' action.

You think BD prices are going to drop now? Good luck with that...

People joke about HD DVD being "obsolete", but you can get a decent player and collection of HD movies for a fraction of what BluRay costs...

What, exactly, did BlewRay win? No traction in the market, sky-high prices, unfinished "standard" that keeps changing. I didn't buy either HD-DVD or BR, and I sure as heck ain't gonna buy BlewRay even with its hollow victory. There are better open formats out there. Silly discs that have to be manually swapped are relics. Multi-disc changers are worse in many ways. Instant-access to my entire collection is where it's at, baby!

    HD DVD > Blu-Ray

This DC version of Planet Earth has not gotten reviews as good as has the BBC version. The content is a bit less with the DC version and it is listed as being recorded in 1080i - the BBC version is 1080p. I'm not sure how the different 1080s affects things but the reviewers claim the 1080p-BBC gave the better video. Also, since it's a BBC production, you're probably better off with the narrator who has the better British accent. Stiff upper lip and all that.

I bought the DC version, from Discovery, before I knew all these details - I paid $25 with free shipping.
