For any of you interested in the camelbak tritan bottle, They are very cool and convenient when backpacking.

REI as a whole is highly overpriced but this bottle is definitely worth $6.

pedoph!le nuisance_sucks might have an extra use for this item, for example, stuffing it into his @ss.

#2, I think you should probably buy some of this stuff from REI and use it to get out more.

Nothing says like honoring those for whom Memorial Day is for by buying more stuff you don't need! So be a good consumer, buy more and do your part today!
(would you like to know more?)

Hmm. While #1 is correct that REI is frequently more expensive than other stores, I have usually found that when I subract out my 10% dividend (I'm a member) the prices are usually quite competitive.

In addition to that, REI has provided me and others with amazing service. As best I can tell, they really will provide an unconditional lifetime warranty to just about everything they sell. And while I am something of a privacy freak, I actually don't mind them associating my purchases with my REI account- you don't have to have a receipt to return things.

An example. I had a pair of higher end Native sunglasses. The nosepieces came off after about 18 months. I went to REI to ask about buying replacement nosepieces- their reaction? "Did you buy it here? OK, here is another pair".

I've returned GPS's after they didn't perform as expected- 2 months later. I don't know of any other store that would do that- but they sure have made a fan out of me.

Sometimes paying a small amount more is worth it for the service you get.

#9, spot on. On Memorial Day we should abstain from buying anything from countries who have made it necessary for us to have a memorial day; Germany, Japan, Italy, China (recall Korean war),Vietnam, middle east countries, ... the list goes on and on.
