Do not buy this bluetooth adapter. It comes with chinese software which is impossible to decipher (instead of words on the menu, you will see question marks). I emailed support weeks ago to request an English version of the software and they have not gotten back to me. There is a reason this one is so cheap. You can download evaluation software in english from their website, but it will limit you to a certain amount of data transfer and then stop working. Thereafter, you will have to purchase the software. Pay a few bucks more and buy an adapter from a reputable name brand.

I have the exact same problem as #1, seeing only question marks and boxes instead of English. I tried different versions of the BlueSoleil software, but they all reported to be limited trial versions after detecting my adapter. MeritLine tech support has been nonresponsive, but customer service sent me the RMA instructions. No response yet from support@bluesoleil.com and support@ivtcorporation.com either.

I got this adapter and it works fine on windows xp.
You do need to install the drivers though.
When you insert the installation CD, the first screen is in Chinese. There is a drop down box that you can select your installation language, please select English from the box and click on the button on the left bottom to confirm. The rest of the installation will be in English.
Hope this helps.
