These batteries are not very good. They are more than generic, the quality is not even as good as a Rayovac from Walmart.

Last month I ordered two packs that were shipped in seperate packages, one made it to me and the other didn't. Batteries.com will not respond to my request to make things right. I only am told they need time to investigate, it has been a month and now they won't even answer my messages. I told them I would post here if I didn't get a response, and here it is folks. Not a deal if you don't get your order and they ignor you.

I second that, listen to #2, do NOT order from them.

Everyone here at The TechGeek thinks that they're a great company. But then again, we're the worst company on the planet, so don't go by us.

I bought a deal from them twice before, every few months - not the world's best batteries, but quite good for the (low) price I paid. I forgot the 1st deal, but it was similar to this. The 2nd deal was 32 AAs for $4.50 shipped. The alkaline batteries have lasted as well as other "regular generic" alkalines - no complaints there. I haven't compared them head to head with Duracell or Everready, but the ones I used have each lasted longer than I expected them to. I still haven't used up the AAs from my last order in February as these batteries are not junk even though cheap in price (at 1/5th the price of premium brands). They are about thrice as long lasting as the CompUSA AA alkaline special (80 nobrand AAs for $10) a year or so ago. Those batteries were not really a deal as they cost a little less but lasted such a short time.
The whole point of these specials is to get customers aware of Batteries.com and order other batteries not on the super-discount. I can go along with that, and with each order I have added on a couple of other batteries (hard to find watch batteries, UPS batteries, NiMH rechargables, etc.) Although the non-special-offer batteries don't get the deep discount, they are fairly priced lower than I can get locally and I've been satisfied with their quality. Usually, a coupon code during the special deal will apply (like today's) for 20% off the already sale priced items.

(post too long, splitting)
This deal today (of which I took part and got some more UPS batteries) also has $.99 shipping which is nice, but this doesn't apply to the (heavy) sealed lead acid UPS batteries. I still think I did well overall today for the 50 special, plus 14 other batteries of various types/sizes I ordered with $12 shipping (including two 6"x2"x4" UPS batteries and two others even larger). Had I bought just the 4 UPS batteries I needed from someplace locally, just those would have cost me $90. Instead I paid $102 (including $12 shipping and the $10 for 50 special) and got my needed UPS batteries, some (10) assorted others, and the 40AAs+10AAAs.
Take my experience just as a satisfied customer for my last 2 purchases, and I expect to be happy with this 3rd buy. I haven't had to contact them for anything though I'm sorry to hear of the guy above's lost package and hassles. They do offer a 45 day warranty "no questions asked".
