GameStop.com has the PS3 BluWave Remote Control for $10, with free shipping on $25 with coupon code SAVER. This is not the OEM Bluetooth remote, as it operates via a USB dongle that connects to your PS3's front USB port. It also allows other universal remotes (such as Harmony) to work with the PS3, albeit without On/Off functionality.

Spend the extra $10 and get the Bluetooth Official Sony one. No dongle required.

Typical- Loud mouths at Ben's spittle at the screen, whining about stuff they know nothing about....
This is GREAT if you want to use a Harmony 880 or other IR remote on the PS3.
You don't buy it for the remote, you buy it for the dongle.
You dimwits.

This has an ugly IR reciever that sticks way out from the PS3 like a thumb drive. It also has limited function as it cannot power the PS3 on or off, and you can't change audio or subtitle selections directly (you have to use the menu). A nicer looking similar item is the Schmartz Stuff PS3IRX1, but it is a bit more expensive. Both are easily programmed into a universal remote like a Harmony (they are already in the database).
For more advanced solutions look into these devices. You pair them to the PS3 just like the Sony Bluetooth remote. They have an IR sensor that receives the IR commands from your programmable remote, and then they send out the corresponding bluetooth command to the PS3. They offer every button available on the official Sony bluetooth remote.

I got the PS3Toothfairy last night to replace my PS3IRX1 (I wanted ocmplete control with my Harmony). It appears to work great so far, but I haven't had a chance to use it too much yet.

Wow, $50 for the toothfairy. Need to think twice about this one. But for anyone who's interested, Amazon is selling the official bluetooth remote in their lightning deals right now for $15, til 2pm PST.
