#3, the dvp5990/37 (and all it's predecessors) does not have a 2.0 usb slot. I know, it is listed 2.0 capable, but that's just their way of telling you that it will work with 2.0 drives. The first upconversion phillips player to have an actual usb 2.0 unit will be the long awaited dvp5992.
