Why? It's fantastic, even if you only use it as intended. You can rent movies in HD, access the music on your computer, your picture collection... And if you hack it, which is very easy to do and well documented, you can share its hard drive across your LAN, and it will play AVI, DivX, etc..., it even supports subtitles. Video quality is excellent, it has built-in 802.11n wireless networking... Why is it a fraud? It's certainly a lot of functionality for the money.

#1, Way to explain your position fucktard.
I interpreted what you said as, "I'm a douche who can't afford a 199 dollar peice of equipment, so I am going rip on it even though I never owned one."
Instead of incessant rambling why dont you, for once, make a comment that's helpful as to why you like or dislike a product.
Since you haven't backed up any reason why you think this product is a "fraud," I'm going to disregard any justification of your useless post.
Now, I own one of these and it's a pretty convienant peice of hardware. I enjoy being able to stream all of my movies to my telelvision set without having to deal with my shitty and loud media center that always had issues.
It's also incredibly usefull when we want to rent a movie but don't want to drive to the store. While I will agree with most that 4 bucks to rent a movie is high considering for a few more bucks you can sign up for netflix, but I don't really feel like waiting a couple days to get the movie.
It also has youtube built in, which can be very entertaining when guests are over.
Another cool feature is you can watch trailers in HD for movies coming out. We actually use this alot
And it also streams music from you computer (no brainer). It syncs with your computer and anything you buy off of it, you can transfer to your computer, and then to your ipod, iphone, or whatever ithing you have.
I recommend it. It's a great little device that's made our lives a little more conveinant, and that's what it's supposed to do.

I'm not an apple fanboy billy_bob...In fact, I've grown up on a pc my whole life, and prefer pc.
It's just that I can afford it, have a need for it, and enjoy it.
Hopefully someday you can afford something in this price range.

I can afford all the apple shit I want whittiker, I had and still have a old IIe "talk about expensive"! and this is only two hundred dollars and they still cant sell it. Did you ever hear about supply and demand smart guy? You need to check on prices for high end computers so that you will realize that apples arent that expensive at all. believe me if apple made a product that I "NEEDED" I would buy it. You can easily build something with far more options and power than this little dog and it will not look like a dora the explorer lunch box. My apple friends have XP so that they can get something done. This is a mediocre piece of history and needs to be relegated to the passed. Move on to the next "really, really great" apple product.
PS This just in, the iphone can play super monkey ball, Wow?
