I cannot stand having a small wire connecting my phone going all that way to my ear. It's way too much trouble.
Instead all I have to do is buy this thing that periodically flashes blue having the added attraction of drawing attention to myself and all I have to do is add another item to the endless number of electronics I have to remember to recharge.
Then of course there is the minor issue of what happens when the non-replaceable battery no longer holds a charge, but the answer is so simple: just buy another.
So why buy a stupidly simple wired headset when you can have this amazing technology.
Did I mention that it flashes blue? Look at me!
