I saw on NewEgg that they had this drive for like $57 and then the 300GB version for $68 (not sure where you saw the 300 for $50). I compared the specs and this had a much faster average seek time and even faster average write time.

Would be pretty good as part of a RAID, I bet. I built mine on 320 GB Barracudas and performance is decent.
