What more do you expect from Apple, it sells more refurbs than news ones.

If you're seriously interested in one of these I'd say the better deal is to buy one new from the education store along with the free ipod and printer promos.

Yes you have to buy the printer and ipod up front, but Apple's rebates are filled out online, require no mailing in of UPC codes or similar crap, and are mailed out in 5-7 DAYS, not weeks.

Apple doesn't really spend a whole lot of time making sure people are actually affiliated with an educational institution, if you know what I mean...

Step right up. If you are buying one of these, I've got wonderful beach front property right here in Wichita, KS for you to buy at a great price of only $60K/acre!

Apple cracks me up... They advertise, market, gather in the herd and them rip them all off. That's their business model. It works!

I am a big fan of apple products. And I think the products are definitely more expensive, but now, after having my macbook laptop for two years, it's still going strong!

But yeah, if they could bring down the price of these babies, that would be fabulous.

#9 - You are excited that a Crapbook ran for 2 years? Well, come to think of it, I guess that's pretty good for one of their products.

I definitely think that all Apple products are overpriced. Given that you can get a better Dell for a whole lot less, you really have to like Apple to want to pay this price.

Have any of you seen a macbook air in person? This isn't meant to compete with the high-end notebooks or even the "dime a dozen" laptops from Dell. What you are paying for is the SSD, the LED display, and the extremely thin design. I'm not saying it's worth what they're charging, but to some it very well may be.

yea, this is a tough sell for the miserly gamer crowd. their priorities are just not the same. that is until they use aesthetically pleasing equipment , and then prefer it.

that's why steve jobs is great, he doesn't let the propeller heads tell him what to do.
