#1,
the DVP5992 has a USB2.0 front panel port
the DVP5982 has a USB1.1 front panel port
everything else is the same.

My previous purchase from Philips Outlet for refurbished item was a disaster. The item arrived unpackaged, without documentation, and it basically broke within two weeks. I returned it and never dare to purchase from Philips Outlet ever since. Just share with you guys.

Generally, this is a good player. Upconversion (up to 1080p) is noticeably better than standard definition. I bought mine refurbished. Slight problem with upconverting, that when on 1080p mode with my Vizio LCD, half of the time I have to turn off the DVD player and turn it back on to get it to send the right signal to the TV (pretty sure this is DVD player fault and not TV). Yesterday, the sound stopped working (both on DVDs and Divx files), but when I updated the firmware it was A-ok once again and hopefully that fixed the other mentioned problem. Being able to put Divx files on a flash drive, plug the flash drive into the unit, and select and play them (w/o burning cds). It can play really high definition divx w/ very little slow down. Overall would recommend.

Also, my sincerest apologies to your wife for having to put up with your erectile dysfunction. I'm sure she's getting it good from the mailman, though. What's his name again? Oh, right, it's "nuisance."

#9, throw in some clever ways to tell people to die. Then you'll have that schtick nailed almost as well as your brother did your wife.
