This is calculate as 1% X 20% = 1.2% earn for the first 12 months. Not a good deal.

I thought most credit cards now will have 1% cash back already, with special bonus for other major categories like grocery & gas. So.. I don't see how this is a good deal

Yup, I wouldn't jump on this deal..
My chase card has 5% gas, 1% everything else.
And Costco Amex has 3% gas, 3% restaurants, 2% travel, 1% everything else (but this one you have to pay costco membership).
I'd like to find a card that offers 5% gas and maybe 3%+ grocery/drug store.. then 1% everything else.. but it seems it's hard to find a card that's 5% gas now days.. most of them are only for first year then drop to 3% or so.

Citibank stinks anyway... Bunch of greedy bastards that will rip you off in fees any chance they get. Hope they get crushed with all the unscrupulous housing bubble loans they made due to their greed. That would serve them right. >:

I get 1.4% back on everything... and then use my Discover Card when they are offering their 5% specials (travel, gas, etc).
