For my money, the losable cap is preferable to the retractable connector that could get filled with pocket lint and other assorted stuff. I will not wear one of these things on a lanyard around my neck and look like a total nerd. I have yet to lose a cap on the 8 or 10 of these that I have.

Besides which, the cap fits nicely on the back side (loop end) of the jump drive, when not actually protecting the usb connector.
These drives aren't the quickest in the world, but they're pretty dependable. Smile

My concern isn't about losing the cap but about the speed. For your 30 bucks, you can pick up a much faster drive.
