The included cable uses two USB ports, one for power one for data. I went with the Western Digital.

Just because it has a y-cable for 2 usb ports doesn't necessarily mean you need to use the 2nd one. I have 2 different enclosures w/ y-adapters and only need one plugged in (even on laptop).

#2, The Y cable is only in case the port isn't actively powered. Mine is connected right now with only 1 port and it's fine.

Good brand, good price... but I hate this design. Why in the name of Fuck did they add this stupid edge on the side? Just to make it bigger and look more idiotic than the competitors model?
