yup, I don't see how $500 is a deal. That walmart gift card + sony card promo was a very good deal indeed. My buddy got the 40GB version for $199 + tax.. that's worth the blueray player alone.

What kind of moron is Ben to list this as some sort of deal. I got Best Buy to match the Walmart deal so got it for $500 and a $100 gift card. Then I had took the $100 GC and bought a game and second PS3 Duel Shock 3 controller. I asked BB to match Walmarts $49.95 price and the guy gave it to me for $45.95, normally $54.95 at Best Buy.

I love my PS3 for all it can do, BUT, I do not get the hype with MetalGS. I have played it, and it looks great and plays well and all. But lets be real. There is about an hour of (interrupted) actual gameplay and over 2 hours of cut scenes. It is one long ass cut-scene after another long ass cut-scene. And $60 for an interactive movie seems a bit steep. Plus, I could never get the online to work, even after an update. I tried about 20 times to get the site ID and the game ID(you need 2 ID's to login). Always said it was unavailable. Stupid ass game should just use the PSN game setup every other game uses.

I think the real problem is KONAMI not Sony when it comes to MGS. I highly recommend the PS3, but, you should rent MGS before paying a premium to get it bundled. So if you are at a crossroad and are deciding which system to buy. The PS3 is the way to go, even if XBOX cuts prices. PS3 just does more for the money. Plus, they both get most of the same games now.
