I think philips and RCA are two brand names to avoid. They're up there with Cyberhome and Polaroid.

For $30, the convenience to play DivX movies is fantastic. I had this and the level up with the USB jack though, and I highly recommend paying the extra $20 for USB. But don't buy this as just a DVD player, it isn't the greatest, but if you want flawless DivX playback, do it. You won't regret it.
