I'm still waiting for canon HV30 model to drop to this price. My computer is not fast enough to edit avchd.

The HF100 is nice, just be aware that since it uses avchd, which is not very consumer friendly.
Awesome looking video, the HF100 has no moving parts so there no motor noise, sounds as good as it looks.
Editing on a quad w/4 gig ram, using Sony Vegas 8b and it is super smooth.
The included software is lame, it allows you watch your clips and that is about all.
