Free Domain Registration at Go DaddyGoDaddy.com has domain registration on sale for Free for the first year (regularly $10) with a coupon code that you need to sign up for (this is quick, you don't even need to enter valid info). They have good prices from a leading reputable registrar. If you've seen some of the other cheaper registrars, take note, as with many of them you don't actually own the domain you buy!

Godaddy sucks, especially their crappy cPanel. You're welcome, n00bs. *smirk*

Well, I just switched one of my domains over to GD from nsi, and once I figured out the differences in the administration for defining specific hosts (aka how to define your DNS servers), it hasn't been bad at all. I don't know what it would be like to host dozens of domains there, but with the 4 domains that I've had with them over the years, I haven't had a problem.

Renewing through 2017 for like $60 was pretty cool though considering how much more I've paid to have the domain for the past 9 years.

They do lie in their ads...They tell you if you transfer a domain they will give you a year free...So you pay for a year but you don't get 2 years...Basically what they are saying is we will transfer your account for the price of a year, then give you a free year...Very misleading...

It is misleading, I checked it out also.

EXPIRED!! You can still get 15% off and all the other junk but NO MORE free domain. Sad

go daddy is a joke. I HAVE to use them from time to time because a few of my clients have their sites hosted there, and every time I do, the dominant thought in my mind, pretty much through out the entire process, is "What a JOKE these guys are!"

And, BTW, you are forced to use their crappy cPanel to upload files, because their FTP service is inaccessible! Seriously, what a frigging JOKE!

But, having said that, if you merely use them as a registrar, and host at a real company, you should be fine.

I have a relative who used this free domain and registration offer. Yet while their domain name can be searched and found, it does not appear that way in the browser address field. Instead it was prefixed with crap like "partnerpage..." Very strange, very crappy.

I went with the free domain and registration offer from Microsoft and everything appears fine.

Some of my friends have domains from GoDaddy, and they work just fine. Trouble only emerges if you use them as a HOST for your pages.

Seriously. Get your domain, and find your own host.

I always use godaddy for a registrar. Don't know why you guys are hatin'. As long as you know how to change your dns, aname, crecords, mx, etc. It works fine for me!

I tried creating account for 1 year...but it required $25 or more to get the discount...
