they're trying to clean out all 40gb model. By fall, only 80gb will be available.

#6 - I doubt it. They are replacing the 40gb drive with an 80gb drive. I'm sure there will be some kind of upgrade to the current 80gb model to keep the two pricing models - 399/499.

You could say unlike m0f0's mother on her 12th birthday, I'm holding out for something special.

#6/#7: The "new" 80gb model (not yet out) will not be the same hardware as the current 80gb model. Backwards compatibility will be lost. I think #7 sums it up best that current speculation is that the 40gb will basically have a larger HDD. I dont know if the rest of the specs will remain. I'm guessing not.

Cards like this kill your credit score...
No interest for a year? What kind of moron buys a gaming system on credit? If you can't afford to pay cash, don't do it.

haha #12, the kind of moron that uses the cash to invest and takes the interest from investing the cash for 1 year to lower the overall cost of the PS3.

#15, The only GUARANTEED, decent 1 year investment would likely be a CD, and even then you're looking at MAYBE 3-5%.
Barely worth the time / resources you would expend setting it up.

And while we're on the topic of investing - You really shouldn't try to sound knowledgeable on the subject of investing if you are advocating throwing 300 bucks (a year from now) into a time-wasting, money-wasting piece of hardware that won't increase your net worth; in fact, it will quite likely reduce it substantially because of all the time you'll waste (both earning the money you'll spend on the games you'll buy, and the time you spend actually playing said games).
You're clearly not as smart as you think you are, or you'd have considered the opportunity costs.

The credit card is a pain to sign up for. I just got the MGS4 package straight up.
